J.U.S.T

Justice Unites Savannah Together (JUST) is a grassroots coalition of more than 20 diverse congregations working together to advance justice throughout Savannah and Chatham County.

In late 2024, JUST began a new initiative to confront the severe shortage of mental health practitioners in Chatham County. Building on this effort, the Access to Mental Health Campaign officially launched in May 2025, addressing a crisis that has impacted residents through long wait times, limited access to specialists, and reduced continuity of care.

Thanks to the advocacy of our members, county leaders agreed to form a Mental Health Workforce Development Task Force, charged with:

  • Developing school-to-workforce pipelines to prepare future mental health professionals

  • Identifying strategies to recruit and retain qualified practitioners

  • Cultivating public-private partnerships and pursuing funding opportunities to support a sustainable, long-term mental health workforce

JUST is currently an all-volunteer organization, powered by members from across our congregations who are united in their commitment to social justice. In the coming year, JUST will continue to focus on our campaigns of mental health access, affordable housing, and school literacy.
