Nestled in the heart of Savannah’s Landmark Historic District, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Savannah offers a beautiful and intimate venue for weddings.  This “hidden gem” of Savannah showcases a lovely sanctuary that is welcoming to all people.  We would be honored to work with you to create your exceptional celebration.

Wonderful for locals and as a “destination wedding”, our church is on Troup Square and offers a beautiful gothic-style sanctuary with jewel-like windows providing an elegant setting for couples seeking a bespoke and unforgettable wedding.

Troup Square is filled with classic oak trees draped with Spanish moss and surrounded by elegant period homes, a perfect backdrop for your stunning wedding photos.

Known as the “Hostess City” and established in 1733, Savannah has a famed town plan designed around our squares, that is studied by architects, historians, and urban planners.  Visitors from around the globe appreciate the old-world feel and are drawn to our charm, history, and warm hospitality.

Our church’s legacy as the “Jingle Bells” church is a wonderful story to share with your guests, celebrating some of the rich musical history of our city.

Our sanctuary is known for hosting historic musical performances and has superb acoustics, a beautiful baby grand piano and a professional sound system that will enhance any music in your ceremony. Our balcony is available for use by photographers and videographers to capture every perfect moment.


Our sanctuary can accommodate up to 150 guests.  We are steps away or a brief ride, from our bustling waterfront, hotels, short-term vacation rentals, and the Morris Center, making our church convenient for couples and their guests to celebrate together in our enchanting city.

Our church, welcomes all couples and officiants, including those from different faiths and traditions. Our minister Rev. Lisa Doege is also available to officiate upon request and welcomes the chance to connect with you to create your ceremony.

Picturesque Troup Square is available for outdoor post-wedding celebrations. Our wedding coordinator can plan with the City of Savannah to gather required permits, as well as any equipment rentals necessary to enhance your dream wedding.  

On-Site Amenities – We can provide food service facilities for caterers and have accessible restrooms adjacent to the sanctuary to provide convenience for receptions or gatherings.

Live-Stream Technology – Through our live-casting capabilities, you can share your special moment with loved ones who aren’t able to attend.

Additionally, we can provide the services of our onsite wedding coordinator, musical director, and audio video technicians. We offer wedding party lounges and access to trusted vendors and partners such as caterers, florists, photographers, and videographers.  Transportation by trolleys and carriages can also be arranged.
